Beninese singer-songwriter, actress and activist Angelique Kpasseloko Hinto Manta Kidjo has a Yoruba root. Her father is from Benin while her mother hails from Abeokuta.
The 59-year-old “Agolo” hitmaker who recently won her fourth Grammy Award, is fluent (and sings) in five different Languages: Fon, French, Yoruba, Gen (mina), & English.
She has families in Ibadan, Abeokuta and Lagos.
