Did you know: Davido’s fall is the only solo African song to be RIAA certified

We’ve seen the Recording Industry Association of America certify countless number of singles and albums be it Diamond, Gold or Platinum. But one thing we’ve not seen them certify until recently is a solo African song.

Davido’s 2017 record, “Fall” — tracked in his 2019 second studio album, ‘A Good Time’ — rightfully became the first and only African song to be certified Gold by the music organization with over 500,000 units in pure sales and streams. Kiddominant, the songwriter, recently received Gold Plague from RIAA to mark the rare feat.
It is also interesting to note that “Fall” is now the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history.
