DID YOU KNOW: D’banj Is The First Nigerian Artiste To Feature On Billboard Chart?
Contrary to the general believe that Wizkid is the First Nigerian artiste to appear on Billboard Chart with Drake’s Afro-Infused single ‘One Dance,‘ — D’banj is actually the rightful owner of that accolade.
One of his biggest songs till date, ‘Oliver Twist’ which was originally released in the UK in 2012, peaked at #9 on the Billboard Top 10 R&B/ Hip-Hop Songs — one of the many categories of charts available on the platform — same year.
This However doesn’t change the fact that Wizkid is the First Nigerian to get a #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
