Ghanian-British Actress, Michaela Coel Joins ‘Black Panther 2’ Casts

The Ghanian-British actress, Michaela Coel — whose critically acclaimed credits include ‘I May Destroy You, ‘Chewing Gum,’ and ‘Black Earth Rising’ – is currently shooting Marvel’s “Black Panther” sequel with the rest of the casts at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios in an undisclosed role as reported by Variety.
The film — dubbed “Black Panther: Wakander Forever” — is set to be released in July 2022, nearly two years after its original lead character, Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer. Coogler, Marvel, and Disney have however stated that they would not replace Chadwick’s role as T’Challa.
Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, and Angela Basset are likely to return to the sequel.
