History Today: Adekunle Gold Debuted With “Gold” LP
July 28 marks the 4th year anniversary of Adekunle Gold’s debut studio album, ‘Gold’.
Released 2016 under YBNL Nation, the LP which comes from a deep place of artistic excellence, was preceded by the release of breakthrough singles like ‘Sade,’ ‘Orente,’ and ‘Pick Up’.
‘Gold’ which peaked at #7 on the Billboard ‘World Albums’ chart 13th August, 2016, was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2017 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. It was also nominated for Album of the Year and Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2018.
