Nicki Minaj Extends Record As Most AMAs-Awarded Female Rapper In History

Nicki Minaj has ruled as the Rap Queen of the American Music Awards since 2015, all thanks to her collection of 6 career prism-shaped trophies.
Going into the show’s 48th annual ceremony (which aired live on November 22), the 37-year-old stood to either extend that reign as she was nominated in two categories or be unseated by longtime nemesis/4x AMA winner Cardi B who entered the show with 3 nominations.
Onika however pushed her career AMA total win to 8 after winning ‘Favourite Rap Female Artist & Favourite Song (Latin)’ — extending her run in history books as the most awarded female Rap artist of all time.
The ‘Pinkprint’ performer is now tied with Eminem, who previously stood as the event’s most awarded emcee overall with 8 career wins.
