The Day Wizkid Broke Dammy Krane’s Head And How It Destroyed His Career

It’s been four years, three months and fourteen days since Wizkid almost cracked-open Dammy Krane‘s skull with a Remy Martins bottle.
Since then, we’ve only seen Wizzy climb much more higher in his music career while it seemed Dammy Krane has suffered a relapse from being a B-list artiste to a E-list artiste (if that even exists).
This begs the question; What happened to Dammy Krane? Could it be that the fight had a negative effect on his career? Perhaps he shouldn’t have said what he wrote on Twitter before the Quilox rumble?!
Recall the two celebrities had their social media beef turn violent at Club Quilox early January, 2016. In a party hosted by Nigerian footballer Obafemi Martins — which attracted a lot of celebrities and music stars — witnessed a fight between Starboy and the ‘My Dear‘ crooner.
Prior to the altercation, Dammy Krane had attacked Wizkid on Twitter for allegedly stealing some of his ideas and songs.
Many slammed Dammy Krane for his outburst, especially Wizkid’s fans — but he later apologized for branding the Starboy a “thief.”
That didn’t sit well with Wizzy either even after the apology. See what I mean after the jump…
It appeared that Wizkid, 28, still hasn’t forgiven him (at the time) which forced him to attack Krane during the Obafemi Martins’ hosted party in Lagos and left him with bruises on his lips, ego and obviously career.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to NET: “When Wizkid entered the club, it seemed he saw Dammy Krane but didn’t go to meet him, then about 15 minutes later, it seemed Dammy was showing him some attitude, then Wizkid went to meet him. The next thing we saw everywhere had scattered. Wizkid broke a bottle on his head before bouncers separated them,” the eyewitness reported.
Additional information that came out thereafter, proved Wizkid started the fight before bouncers came in to separate them.
Even though it was reported that Quilox Night Club owner, Shina Peller and 2baba settled the fight, it seemed like it has only gone well for one than the other since then.
In what many believed to be a ‘desperate publicity stunt‘ which didn’t yield the desired result, Dammy Krane’s career has since became a nightmare before his eyes.
Despite the fact that he performed at number of shows in that same year following the fight, Krane,28, has not been the same energetic entertainer we once knew him to be. While many upcoming artistes are enjoying massive airplay on radio & Tv as well as topping charts, Dammy Krane has found it difficult just to make a hit song.
However, the pair re-united on stage back in 2018 at the ‘Wizkid Exclusive VIP Experience’ where Wizkid was captured using lyrics from Dammy Krane’s single “Amen” to pray for him and it almost left the latter in tears. You can WATCH HERE
This is probably a big lesson to him and every other Nigerian artistes who engage in cheap publicity, especially against artistes with bigger and loyal fanbase as that of Wizkid!
