Wale Waves – Babalawo

He is no Oracle, neither is he a Herbalist, but “Babalawo” is what Wale Waves has chosen as his new comeback single title.
Widely known for his classic songs and award-winning movie soundtracks like ‘Figurine (Araromire)‘ by Kunle Afolayan , ‘The Call‘ by Woli Arole , ‘Nimbe‘ by Film Trick , just to mention a few, the Afrocentric returns with this masterpiece – purposely to display professionalism, reflect on his past experiences and also his ability to produce better sounds.
“Babalawo” is a well-organized symphonic song, composed, written and performed by Wale in 2017, during the home coming of his old time Nigerian born-American based Music Producer friend, Kola Ladapo, known as KODED, who recorded him in Nigeria and went back to the United States to mix and master.
Babalawo, is basically said to be an expression of his own true life story years back, during his University days in LAUTECH , in order to glorify his lord God, after been prophesied to, by different clergy men, also, series of life threatening dreams from friends and families, that he has a short life time to live.
Wale Waves afterwards survived 3 different stages of deadly accidents and occurrences, which actually caused his 8 years break from the Nigerian music industry.
This song also morally touches the ‘envy experience’ in most polygamous families. ‘Babalawo’ by Wale Waves is officially out on all digital platforms worldwide. You can also listen via www.walewaves.com while we anticipate the title track EP dropping later this month.
